The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Cooney called the meeting to order and led in the
salute to the flag.
Invocation was given by Dr. Frank F. Mason of the First
Baptist Church.
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Rubio, Calvert, Solem,
McLees, Cooney
7:30 p.m.

It is the recommendation of Director of Public Works that
'the contract be awarded to L. C. Construction Co., low bidder,
in the amount of $35,814.95
Moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman Calvert and
unanimously carried to accept recommendation of Director of
Public Works to award contract to L.C. Construction Co.,
low bidder and to return bid securities to unsuccessful bidders
after contract has been signed.

Director of Public Works recommended that City Council accept
the bid of International Harvester Co. for purchase of Loader
for total price of $11,392, exclusive of alternate Backhoe

Moved by Councilman Calvert, seconded by Councilman Rubio Home for Boys
and unanimously carried that Council suppport protest to
application for a zone exception (Case #686-1) and that a
letter be written to County Regional Planning Commission;
also that Planning Director be authorized to attend Public
Hearing on this case on 1/18/68 to present City's position.
Notice was given that Planning Commission, by Resolution
No. 703 granted a Variance to permit the erection of a
subdivision directional sign in C-2 zone, on a portion of Block
3, Tract #627 (between Azusa Ave. & San Gabriel Canyon Rd.,
south of Sierra Madre Ave.) (Case V-210 B & L Outdoor
Advertising co.). No action taken by Council.
Notice was given that Planning Commission, by Resolution
No. 704 initiated a hearing on amendment to Zoning Chapter
of Municipal Code (Section 9208.10, subsection C-5), re:
keeping of poultry and animals in a residential zone for
non-commercial purposes. No action taken by Council.

amending Municipal Code to rezone certain property (Case Z-142
Screwmatic, Inc.).
Councilman McLees offered for second reading and adoption
an Ordinance entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
AMENDING THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE TO REZONE CERTAIN

A proposed Resolution was presented accepting a Grant Deed Proposed Res.
from Azusa Foothill Citrus Co. for gum grove property withdrawn at

requested that this item be deleted at the present time.

Communication was received from Director of Parks & Recreation Req.waiver of
for request for waiver of 50¢ bicycle licensing fee for 50¢ bicycle
period January 17th through February 17th, 1968, in conjunction licensing fee
with Bicycle Safety Month.
Moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman Calvert and
unanimously carried to waive bicycle licensing fee according
to request.
