Mayor Cooney called the meeting to order and led in the salute to the flag. Invocation was given by Dr. Frank F. Mason of the First Baptist Church. Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Rubio, Calvert, Solem, McLees, Cooney 7:30 p.m. ' Also Present: Acting City Attorney Terzian, City Administra- tor Foxworthy, Director of Public Works Sandwick, Superintendent of Light & Water Smith, Planning Director Smith, City Clerk Miller. Counci] Actions 12/4/( It is the recommendation of Director of Public Works that 'the contract be awarded to L. C. Construction Co., low bidder, in the amount of $35,814.95 Moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman Calvert and unanimously carried to accept recommendation of Director of Public Works to award contract to L.C. Construction Co., low bidder and to return bid securities to unsuccessful bidders after contract has been signed. Moved by Councilman McLees, seconded by Councilman Solem and unanimously carried to refer to Planning Commission to !n initiate hearing to amend Ordinance to provide that when x new evidence is presented to Council at its hearing, the case Q shall be referred back to Planning Commission. Notice was given that Planning Commission, by Resolution No. 703 granted a Variance to permit the erection of a subdivision directional sign in C-2 zone, on a portion of Block 3, Tract #627 (between Azusa Ave. & San Gabriel Canyon Rd., south of Sierra Madre Ave.) (Case V-210 B & L Outdoor Advertising co.). No action taken by Council. Notice was given that Planning Commission, by Resolution No. 704 initiated a hearing on amendment to Zoning Chapter of Municipal Code (Section 9208.10, subsection C-5), re: keeping of poultry and animals in a residential zone for non-commercial purposes. Councilman McLees offered for second reading and adoption an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE AZUSA MUNICIPAL CODE TO REZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY. (Z-142 - Screwmatic, Inc.) Page 3 Moved by Councilman McLees, seconded by Councilman Solem and 'unanimously carried by roll call that further reading be waived. A proposed Resolution was presented accepting a Grant Deed Proposed Res. from Azusa Foothill Citrus Co. for gum grove property withdrawn at (technical correction in original deed). Communication was received from Director of Parks & Recreation Req.waiver of for request for waiver of 50¢ bicycle licensing fee for 50¢ bicycle period January 17th through February 17th, 1968, in conjunction licensing fee with Bicycle Safety Month. Moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman Calvert and unanimously carried to waive bicycle licensing fee according to request. 'Request from Superintaalert of Light & Water for Mutual Credit Bureau to proceed with legal action on overdue Light & Water account ($962.93).
