SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FROM CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY FOR FAMILY
LITERACY
BACKGROUND:
The Azusa City Library has been awarded a grant in the amount of $20,250 from California State Library for
Family Literacy programs. This action accepts this grant award and approves a corresponding budget
amendment to incorporate the grant funds into the current fiscal year budget.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions:
1)Accept the grant award from California State Library for Family Literacy; and
2)Approve necessary budget amendments and adjust the current fiscal year budget accordingly.
ANALYSIS:
The Library is the recipient of the California State Library Family Literacy Grant. This grant will provide funding
for Literacy and Youth Services to implement new and innovative programming to support Family Literacy at the
Azusa City Library.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended actions; this grant will support Family Literacy
programs. Upon Council acceptance of the grant, Finance staff will amend the FY21-22 budget consistent with
the grant award amount.
