McKeever Ave.CONSENT CALENDAR TO: HONORABLE CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS OF THE AZUSA UTILITY BOARD FROM: MANNY ROBLEDO, DIRECTOR OF UTILITIES DATE: MAY 24, 2021 SUBJECT: APPROVE GRANT OF EASEMENT AND AUTHORIZE THE RECORD FOR THE ELECTRIC FACILITIES INSTALLED ON PRIVATE PROPERTY FROM PROPERTY OWNER FOR SITE ADDRESS 734 N. MCKEEVER AVENUE, AZUSA, CA 91702 BACKGROUND: The electric service at 734 N. McKeever Avenue is being upgraded from a single phase to a three phase service. New underground substructures such as underground conduits and transformer pad are required to facilitate this upgrade. Property owner is granting an easement to the Azusa Light & Water (ALW) for the purpose of operating and maintaining said electric utility facilities. Staff is seeking Utility Board approval to accept such grant of easement and authorize the City Clerk to file the grant of easement with the County. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the Utility Board take the following actions: 1)Certificate of Acceptance of Grant of Permanent Easement for Electric Utility purposes from property owner for site address 734 N. Mckeever Avenue in the City of Azusa; and 2) Adopt Resolution No. 2021-UB-07; and 3) Authorize the City Clerk to file said easement documents with the Office of the Los Angeles County Recorder. Mckeever Ave is upgrading the existing electric service from a single phase to a three phase electric service. To accommodate this upgrade, new electric facilities such as underground conduits, transformer pad, cables, and equipment are required to be installed on said property in a designated area. The property owner is providing an easement to ALW. This utility easement is being granted to allow the Electric Utility right-of-way for operation and maintenance of its electric facilities. Attached are Exhibits A and B for the electric facilities located on this property. FISCAL IMPACT: All costs associated with the preparation and processing of this Grant of Permanent Easement are to be borne by the property owner.
