Meeting of November 21,2000

Call to Order: Chairman Ted Garcia called the meeting to order at 5:07 p.m.
Roll Call: Present: Ray Ayon
Edie Russek
Ted Garcia
Ed Hlava
Beverly Piper
Absent: Jeff Cornejo
Frances Gonzales
Also present were Mark Ades, a resident of the city, and staff members Roy Bruckner and Fabiola Wong.
Approval of Minutes
It was motioned by Mr.Ed Hlava and seconded by Mr.Ted Garcia to approve the minutes of the meeting of
October 17,2000. Motion carried unanimously.
Scheduled Items
Work session
The Commission received an update of Response Form mailed out to property owners on the Landmark List
of Potential Historic Landmarks. The commissioners spent some time discussing the removal of the
recognition plaques placed on various sites. This discussion came about as the property owners from 1003
N. Soldano(Clark's House)declined to be on the list.
Commissioner Ed Hlava stated that some properties were inadvertently dropped from the list. He would like .
to make an effort to add those properties back to the survey list. He requested to add 250 E.Foothill Blvd.
back to the list before adopting the resolution. Subsequently,commissioner Hlava made a motion to adopt
the resolution recommending to the City Council adoption of the List of Potential Historic Landmarks as a
survey list subject to CEQA. Motion was carried unanimously.
New Business
Mr. Ed Hlava mentioned that he would like to explore any monetary incentives available for preservation
and conservation. Mr.Hlava introduced the Bureau Land Management Action California Historical Route
66: An Action Plan for America's Main Street by Triad Communication.
Public Participation
None
There being no more business to conduct, it was motioned by Ms. Edie Russek and seconded by Mr. Ray
Ayon to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
