SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF “LUNCH AT THE LIBRARY” GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA
LIBRARY ASSOCIATION
BACKGROUND:
The Azusa City Library has been awarded a grant in the amount of $9,000 from the California Library
Association to support Lunch at the Library programs. This action accepts the grant award and approves a
corresponding budget amendment to incorporate the grant funds into the current fiscal year budget.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions:
1)Accept the grant award from the California Library Association; and
2)Approve necessary budget amendments and adjust the fiscal year budget accordingly.
ANALYSIS:
The Library is the recipient of the California Library Association “Lunch at the Library” grant. This grant provides
funds to enhance programming for learning and enrichment activities, such as S.T.E.A.M., early learning and
nutrition education, summer reading and literacy, music and theater. These funds support programs that coincide
with the summer meal distribution program.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended actions; this grant will support funding programs
during summer meal distribution program. Upon Council acceptance of the grant, Finance staff will amend the
FY 2021-2022 budget consistent with the grant award amount.
