AZUSA AUDITORIUM AZUSA, CALIFORNIA SATURDAY, JUNE 7, 1969 10:00 a.m.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in an adjourned
regular meeting at the above time and place.
Mayor Pro Tempore Calvert called the meeting to order.
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Rubio, Decker, Cooney,

The City Administrator presented the following budgets
for review by Council:

The City Administrator presented the Accounting Budget.
Mayor Solem entered the meeting at 1C:06 a.m.
Moved by Councilman Decker and seconded by Councilman Calvert
and unanimously carried that the budget requests for
Account No. 5040 (Accounting) be approved with the excep-
tion of Object Accounts No. 330 and No. 440.
Moved by Councilman Calvert, seconded by Councilman Cooney
and unanimously carried that the budget requests for
Account No. 5050 (Treasurer) be approved with the exception
of Object Account #330.
The City Clerk presented the budget for the City Clerk's
Department. Object Account # 100 was increased by
$4,584 (one-half of Special Services Officer's salary),
because this amount had not been budgeted in the Police
Budget.
City (lerk suggested reduction of salaries by $1,290 due
to change in complement within the Department.
Moved by Councilman Rubio, seconded by Councilman Decker
and unanimously carried that Object Account # 255 be.
reduced by $150 to read $100.

Moved by Councilman Calvert, seconded by Councilman Cooney
and unanimously carried that Object Account #330 be re-
duced by $200 to read $564.
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Calvert
and unanimously carried that budget requests for Account
No. 5030 (City Clerk) be approved as amended, with exception
of Object Accounts #330 and #440.
' The City Clerk presented the budget for Elections.
Moved by Councilman Calvert, seconded by Councilman Decker
and unanimously carried to approve the budget requests for
Account No. 5110 (Elections) as submitted.
Moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman Calvert
and unanimously carried that budget requests for Account
No. 5141 (Switchboard) be approved as submitted.

The City Clerk presented the Data Processing budget. Upon Acct.#5170
the suggestion of the City Clerk, it was moved by Council- a roc.)

carried that Object Account #440 be reduced by $180 to amend.exc.

Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Calvert
and unanimously carried that the budget requests for
Account No. 5170 (Data'Processing) be approved as amended,
with the exception of Personnel, and #330 and #440 Object
Accounts.
Miss Theodora Johnson, City Librarian, presented the budget
for the Library. After discussion concerning the possible
Capital Building Program with the Library, it was moved by
Councilman Rubio, seconded by Councilman Decker, and unan-
imously carried to approve the allocation of 30 mils on the
tax rate as allowed by law, plus fines and fees, and to
hold in abeyance consideration of Capital Construction.
It was moved by Councilman Cooney, seconded by Councilman
Decker and unanimously carried that the budget requests for
Account No. 5100 (Community Promotions) be approved as
submitted.
Moved by Councilman Calvert., seconded by Councilman Cooney
and unanimously carried that the budget requests for
Account No. 5131 (Insurance) be approved as submitted.
Moved by Councilman Calvert, seconded by Councilman Cooney
and unanimously carried that budget requests for Account
No. 5137 (Memberships, Dues and Miscellaneous) be approved,
as submitted.

Councilman Calvert requested that Council be given a list Req.for
of fringe benefits presently being given to employees, with rpt.on
the cost enumerated for each, and a total as a percentage fringe
of the salaries. He further requested that this report be benefits
submitted prior to salary studies when they will be taken
up at a future budget session.
The City Clerk presented a request from the Foothill -Park Req.by
'Baptist Church for permission to conduct an informal Foothill -
parade through the residential area surrounding the Church Park Bapt.

with banners, and would be held on Saturday, June 14, 1969, to hold

and unanimously carried that permission be granted subject
to the permission of the Chief of Police.

There being no further business, it was moved by Councilman Motion tc
Calvert, seconded by Councilman Decker and unanimously adj.to
carried to adjourn to the date of June 9, 1969, in the 6/9/69
Azusa Auditorium, at 8:00 o'clock p.m. 8:00 p.m.
