The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned
regular session at the above time and place.
Mayor Jens J. Solem called the meeting to order. Call to Order

the contract. One of these alternates, alternate B,
was necessary for the installation of surveillance
equipment in the interrogation room, jail cells etc.
The bid amount of alternate B was $1,393 and the con-
tractor would include this now for the same price as
bid. He recommended that a change order be approved in
the amount of $1,393 for the contractor to install the
surveillance equipment portion of the original proposal
known as, alternate B.
After discussion it was the consensus of Council to Act. Cty. Adm.

The amount of the request would be $700, and the work

Clark and unanimously carried to authorize the expense
of $700 for additional landscaping to be installed by
City work forces.
The Acting City Administrator explained that persons Res.#5744

Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Snyder
and unanimously carried that further reading be waived.

The Acting City Administrator requested that Jeanne C. Req, of Cty.
Colantuono be appointed on a limited term appointment, Adm.-J.Colan-

This is due to the fact that on June 22, 1970 she will no on limited
longer be available under the NYC program. As she is ex- term, range 6

The City Clerk presented a letter from the Foothill Inter -
City Newspaper (Azusa Herald) stating,that the cost of
legal advertising for the City from July, through June 30,
1971 will remain at $2.20 per column inch per insertion.
The City Clerk recommended that Council approve this rate
'for City legal advertising.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Clark
and unanimously carried to approve the rate as submitted.
The Director of Utilities presented the water budget
request account 6000 for consideration by the Council
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Clark
and unanimously carried to delete $52000 from object
6.343 and hold object 6.342, (reservoir) in abeyance.

Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Snyder
and unanimously carried to approve that water budget
request account 6000 as amended, and with the exception of
those items being held in abeyance.
The Director of Utilities presented the Light Department
budget request account 7000.
Moved by Councilman Rubio, seconded by Councilman Snyder
and unanimously carried to hold the items of $15,000
'and $75,000 object 7.362 in abeyance until the next bud-
get session.
Moved by Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Decker
and unanimously carried to reduce object 7.364 by
$21,000.
Moved by Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Snyder
and unanimously carried to reduce object 7.365 by
$19,000.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Snyder
and unanimously carried to reduce object 7.368 by $9,000.
Moved by Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Rubio
and unanimously carried to reduce object 7.369 by
$4,500.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Clark
and unanimously carried to reduce object 7.370 by
$2,000.
Moved by Councilman Snyder, seconded by Councilman Rubio
and unanimously carried to hold $5,600 (Street Lights)

until next budget meeting.

and unanimously carried to hold $1,080 of object 7.921 in
abeyance.
It was the concensus of Council to hold object 3.011
(General Administration of Light & Water) in abeyance.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by'Councilman Clark
and unanimously carried to approve the Light budget as
amended, with the exception of those items held in
abeyance.
The Council discussed the problem the City was having Counc. dis-
with regard to the services etc. from the City's cussion re:

The Council was recessed to executive session at Recess to
