JOHNSON, DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DATE: JULY 19, 2021 SUBJECT: REQUEST TO INCREASE FISCAL YEAR 2020/21 BLANKET PURCHASE ORDER FOR BEST BEST & KRIEGER BACKGROUND: In accordance with Sec. 2-518 (b) of the Azusa Municipal Code, if the amended contract will exceed $25,000, the city council shall approve the contract. The Administrative Services Department is requesting authorization to increase the FY 2020/21 blanket purchase order of $250,000 for City Attorney Retainer Services by $20,000. No additional budget is being requested for this item. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council take the following action: 1)Approve an increase to the Best Best & Krieger Blanket Purchase Order #033215 for Fiscal Year 2020/21 to a not-to exceed amount of $270,000. ANALYSIS: The Administrative Services Department uses Best Best & Krieger for citywide legal retainer services. They are responsible for providing legal advice and services to City staff on an as needed basis. This ensures that the City remains in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of the recommended action will increase the Best Best & Krieger FY 2020/21 blanket purchase order to $270,000, with no budget adjustments as there are enough funds available to cover this request.
