SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FROM CANYON CITY FOUNDATION IN THE AMOUNT OF
$40,000 FOR THE EXPANSION OF NON-TRADITIONAL LIBRARY PROGRAMS
BACKGROUND:
The Azusa City Library has been awarded a grant in the amount of $40,000 from Canyon City Foundation. This
action accepts this grant award and approves a corresponding budget amendment to incorporate the grant funds
into the current fiscal year budget.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions:
1)Accept the grant award from Canyon City Foundation; and
2)Approve necessary budget amendment and adjust the current fiscal year budget accordingly.
ANALYSIS:
The Azusa Library is the recipient of a Canyon City Foundation Grant. The grant will help to support and expand
the non-traditional Library programs, Neighborhood Connections, Inspired Citizenship and Grass Roots English
as a Second Language (ESL) programs.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended actions; this grant will support the Library’s non-
traditional programming. Upon Council acceptance of the grant, Finance staff will amend the FY21-22 budget
consistent with the grant award amount.
