SUBJECT: REQUEST TO APPROVE PURCHASE OF PURE STORAGE ARRAY FROM
NETSYNC NETWORK SOLUTIONS
BACKGROUND:
One of the City of Azusa’s primary interests is to ensure the Police Department’s Information
Technology Infrastructure remains secure. The proposed action approves the purchase of a Pure Storage
FlashArray for virtual servers. Pure Storage Flash Array, along with install service and a 3 year Gold
Subscription - 24/7 support purchase is not-to-exceed amount of $83,780.41.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends the City Council take the following action:
1) Approve the purchase of Pure Storage FlashArray for virtual servers from Netsync Network
Solutions to a not-to-exceed amount of $83,780.41; and approve any necessary budget
amendments and adjust the current fiscal year budget accordingly.
ANALYSIS:
Information Technology support is a critical segment of the Police Department’s infrastructure. Scientia
Consulting Group is providing consulting services to help maintain computer systems and security
infrastructure. Scientia Consulting Group has identified the need to purchase the Pure Storage
FlashArray. All data in the servers sits in this storage device and it is imperative that the Police
Department acquires this technology in order to maintain critical information technology security
infrastructure.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon Council approval of the recommended actions, staff will prepare a FY 2021-22 budget amendment
and add budget of $83,780.41 under 10-20-941-000-6846/CYBER26846. The fiscal impact is a
reduction of $83,780.41 to the General Fund.
