SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT COMPLETION AND AUTHORIZATION TO FILE A
NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE CITYWIDE CONCRETE IMPROVEMENTS
PROJECT
BACKGROUND:
On June 21, 2021, the City Council awarded a contract to CT&T Concrete Paving Inc. for the Citywide
Concrete Improvements Project, funded by the Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3
bicycle and pedestrian funds. The project was completed on August 18, 2021. The proposed actions will
accept the improvements and authorize Staff to file a Notice of Completion for the project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council take the following actions:
1)Accept the project improvements; and
2)Authorize Staff to file a Notice of Completion for the Citywide Concrete Improvements Project
ANALYSIS:
The completed project repaired uplifted/damaged sidewalks, curb & gutter, and asphalt concrete slot
cuts. Damaged drive approaches were replaced in-kind. Improvements were made at the following
locations:
•East side of Citrus Avenue between Mauna Loa Avenue to Alosta Avenue
•Various residential streets surrounding Gladstone Park
The final improvements included the replacement of 3,443 square feet of sidewalk, 2,819 square feet of
drive approach, 348 lineal feet of curb & gutter and asphalt concrete slot paving.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The project was funded by $66,341 TDA Article 3 Funds and $29,158.60 in Utility Mitigation Funds at
a total construction cost of $95,499.60.
