HomeMy WebLinkAboutE-9 Staff Report - NOC for Suite 2B RemodelCONSENT ITEM E-9 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL VIA: SERGIO GONZALEZ, CITY MANAGER FROM: ROBERT DELGADILLO, P.E., DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER DATE: OCTOBER 4, 2021 SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT COMPLETION AND AUTHORIZATION TO FILE A NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE AZUSA LIGHT AND WATER BUILDING, SUITE 2B REMODEL FOR RELOCATION OF PUBLIC WORKS ENGINEERING DIVISION SUMMARY: On June 21, 2021, the City Council awarded a contract to RS Construction and Development, Inc. for the remodeling of Suite 2B in the Azusa Light and Water building for a total not-to-exceed contract amount of $107,000. The project is funded by Engineering and Facilities general funds, sewer funds, and gas tax funds. The project was completed on September 29, 2021. The proposed actions will accept the improvements and authorize Staff to file a Notice of Completion for the project. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council take the following actions: 1)Accept the project improvements; and 2)Authorize Staff to file a Notice of Completion for the remodeling of Suite 2B in the Azusa Light and Water building ANALYSIS: The completed remodel of Suite 2B in the Azusa Light and Water building has created the necessary office space to accommodate the Engineering Division’s personnel, a total of 7 employees. These tenant improvements will allow the Engineering Division to grow by 2 people without further office space improvements. APPROVED CITY COUNCIL 10/6/2021 ALW Suite 2B Remodel October 4, 2021 Page 2 FISCAL IMPACT: The project was completed at a total construction cost of $106,932 and funded by $40,000 (Engineering Fund 10-55-651-000-7128), $10,000 (Facilities Fund 10-55-666-000-7128), and $56,932 (Sewer Fund 34-55-665-000-7128).
