SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT COMPLETION AND AUTHORIZATION TO FILE A
NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE CITYWIDE 2021 RESIDENTIAL
RESURFACING PROJECT CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 66121A
BACKGROUND:
On June 21, 2021, the City Council awarded a contract to All American Asphalt for the rehabilitation of
approximately 2.2 miles of residential streets, Project No. 66121A. The project was completed on
December 22, 2021. The proposed actions will accept the improvements and authorize Staff to file a
Notice of Completion for the project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council take the following actions:
1)Accept the project improvements as recommended by the City Engineer; and
2)Authorize Staff to file a Notice of Completion for the 2021 Residential Resurfacing Project
Capital Improvement Project No. 66121A
ANALYSIS:
The improvement completed extend for approximately 2.2 miles of residential streets and include
510,000 SF of Type II Slurry Seal and 349,000 SF of cape seal. In addition, the concrete improvements
listed below were completed:
•Remove and replace 7,000 SF of sidewalks
•Remove and replace 3,200 SF of gutter spandrel
•Remove and replace 330 LF of curb and gutter

FISCAL IMPACT:
The amount awarded for the project was $1,037,250.95. The estimated construction cost was
$987,056.95 and the estimated Construction Administration was $50,194.00. The actual construction
cost for the project was $890,081.32 and $50,194.00 for Construction Administration. The combined
construction and Construction Administration cost was $940,275.32. The project was completed under
budget by $96,975.63.
The cost of this project was funded through the Senate Bill 1 (SB1) Funds ($820,000) and Utility
Mitigation Funds ($120,275.32). The total project cost was $940,275.32
