HomeMy WebLinkAboutE-5 Staff Report - Norice of inviting Bids for Landscape and Irrigation Maintenance 22-25CONSENT ITEM E-5 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL VIA: SERGIO GONZALEZ, CITY MANAGER FROM: ROBERT DELGADILLO, P.E., DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER DATE: MARCH 21, 2022 SUBJECT: ATHORIZE STAFF TO SOLICIT A NOTICE OF INVITING BIDS FOR CITYWIDE LANDSCAPE AND IRRIGATION MAINTENANCE OF VARIOUS MEDIAN ISLANDS, PUBLIC FACILITIES, PARKS, AND RIGHT OF WAYS. BACKGROUND: On January 22, 2019, City Council awarded a maintenance contract for a three-year term for City-wide landscape maintenance services for City parks, parkways, median islands, and Azusa Light & Water owned sites and expired on February 28, 2022. On February 22, 2022, Council approved a first amendment to the current landscape maintenance services contract for a month-to-month basis for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2021-22 at their current monthly rate. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council take the following actions: 1)Approve the Notice of inviting bids and allow staff to solicit bids for citywide landscape and irrigation maintenance services. ANALYSIS: The City has used a third-party contractor for landscape and irrigation maintenance services at City parks, parkways, median islands and Azusa Light & Water owned sites since 2012. On January 22, 2019, City Council awarded a maintenance contract for a three-year term which is set to expire on February 28, 2022. On February 22, 2022, Council approved a first amendment to the current landscape maintenance services contract for a month-to-month basis for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2021-22 at their current monthly rate. The approval of the above recommendation will allow staff to solicit for notice of inviting bids for citywide landscape maintenance services for FY 22-25. APPROVED CITY COUNCIL 3/21/2022 Notice of Inviting Bids – Landscape and Irrigation Maintenance March 21, 2022 Page 2 FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this request as funds will be requested through the proposed FY2022-23 budget approval process. The requested funds will be included in the following accounts listed below: General Fund Account # 10-25-420-000-6493 – Rosedale Community Facilities District (CFD) Account # 37-25-420-000-6493 and Azusa Light & Water, L&W Buildings Account #31-40-702-935-6805 - Water Production Account #32-40-722-707-6805- Water Districts Account #32-40-723-759-6805 - Electric Division Account #33-40-735-910-6815.
