HomeMy WebLinkAboutE-8 Staff Report - Azusa PD Interior and Exterior PaintingCONSENT ITEM E-8 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL VIA: SERGIO GONZALES, CITY MANAGER FROM: ROCKY WENRICK, INTERIM CHIEF OF POLICE DATE: APRIL 4, 2022 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF AZUSA POLICE DEPARTMENT INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR PAINTING BACKGROUND: Building Paint is worn and is showing excessive damage and needs repairs. The Interior was last painted in 2008 and the Exterior of the Building was last painted in 1999 when building was constructed. RECOMMENDATION(S): It is recommended that the City Council take the following action: 1)Approve the Azusa Police Department Building Painting for Interior and Exterior by Trademark Painting Inc, 889 Mission Blvd, Riverside, CA 92509 in an amount not to exceed $49,938.00 for Interior and $51,600.00 for Exterior. ANALYSIS: The facilities at the Azusa Police Department were last upgraded in 1999. At that time the exterior of the building was painted. The interior of the Azusa Police Department was last painted in 2008. The painting of the exterior and interior of the police department will enhance the first impression visitors and community members see when visiting the department. The enhanced appearance assists in the department’s motto of “Professional Service to a Proud Community.” The Azusa Police Department solicited bids for the interior and exterior paint and Trademark Painting Inc. came in with a bid of $49,938.00 for interior and $51,600.00 for exterior. APPROVED CITY COUNCIL 4/4/2022 Interior and Exterior Painting April 4, 2022 Page 2 FISCAL IMPACT: There are adequate funds included in the FY2021-22 Approved Capital Improvement Project including $49,938 in account #46 80 000 310 7125-31020C-7125 for the interior paint and $46,317 in account #46 80 000 310 7125-31020A-7125 for the exterior paint. The variance of $5,283 ($51,600 - $46,317) is available in budget savings under the FY2021-22 Approved Public Safety Operations Budget.
