SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FROM CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY
BACKGROUND:
The Azusa City Library has been awarded a grant in the amount of $60,028 from California State Library
for the Azusa Creates Together (ACT) programs. This action accepts this grant award and approves a
corresponding budget amendment to incorporate the grant funds into the 21-22 and 22-23 fiscal year budget.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions:
1)Accept the grant award from California State Library; and
2)Approve necessary budget amendments and adjust the budgets accordingly.
ANALYSIS:
The Library is the recipient of the California State Library grant the Azusa City Library will create programs
and services for youths of all ages with disabilities through ACT: Azusa Creates Together. Programs for ACT
are designed to build community and capacity by leveraging the Library's strategic connections, investing in
staff training, and fostering a library environment that is welcoming to youths with disabilities.
The approved budget is $60,028 with funds going to staff training, program expenses, technology, NAO robot
with autism curriculum, and other supplies that will sustain the 2-year grant project.

FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended actions; this grant will support ACT programs.
Upon Council acceptance of the grant, Finance staff will amend the FY 21-22 and 22-23 budget consistent
with the grant award amount.
