SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT COMPLETION AND AUTHORIZATION TO FILE A
NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE MEMORIAL PARK PLAYGROUND
EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT
BACKGROUND:
On February 1, 2021, the City Council awarded a contract to Miracle Recreation Equipment Co. for the
replacement of the playground equipment at Memorial Park for a total not-to-exceed contract amount of
$219,596.05. The project is funded by Measure A funds. The project was completed November 3, 2022.
The proposed actions will accept the improvements and authorize Staff to file a Notice of Completion
for the project.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends that City Council take the following actions:
1)Accept the project improvements; and,
2) Authorize Staff to file a Notice of Completion for the replacement of the playground equipment at
Memorial Park.
ANALYSIS:
The completed replacement of the playground equipment at Memorial Park has updated equipment that
had been in place since 2006. The replacement equipment is compliant with current safety standards and
will allow for needed repairs since parts should be more readily available.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The project was completed at a total cost of $207,550.03 using Measure A allocated funds under account
(53-80-000-420-7120/42021A).
