GABRIEL VALLEY FOR EMOTIONAL WELLBEING SERVICES
BACKGROUND:
The City of Azusa has been awarded a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration (SAMHSA), which will be administered by the Community Resources Department and
brings together service providers for Azusa youth and families. These service providers will assess
needs of Azusa residents and provide services and/or referrals. YWCA San Gabriel Valley (YWCA
SGV), one of the service providers, will provide emotional wellbeing programming to families,
individuals and youths.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions:
1) Approve a MOU with YWCA SGV for SAMHSA grant deliverables; and,
2) Authorize the City Manager to execute the MOU with YWCA SGV, in a form acceptable to the
City Attorney, on behalf of the City.
ANALYSIS:
The purpose of this MOU is to establish the terms and conditions under which YWCA SGV will provide
services for the City of Azusa Youth & Family Center. YWCA SGV is a nonprofit committed to
