AZUSA AUDITORIUM AZUSA, CALIFORNIA WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 1972 7:30 P.m. 'The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned regular session at the above time and place. Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in the Call to boar salute to the flag. Invocation was given by Mr. Frank Herber of the Church of Invocett.ow Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints. Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Rubio, Decker, Snyder, Roll Call Clark, Solem Also Present: City Attorney Wakefield, City Administrator Dangleis, Director of Public Works Wells, Superintendent of Light Rc Power Gerharz, Acting Police Chief Lara, Fire Chief Torrance, Director of Parks & Recreation Guarrera, City Librarian Ector, Accounting Director Cooney, Associate Planning Director Fitzsimmons, City Clerk Klarr The Minutes of the meeting of October 21 1972, were Appvl. Min. approved as submitted. 10/2i72 'A communication was received from the Chamber of Commerce Appvl. req. regarding Christmas decorations this year with request Ch, of Comm. for assistance from the Power and Fire Departments in re: 1972 putting up additional guide wires and hanging the decora- Christmas tions, decorations Martin Usrey, 7645 Yucca Ridge Road, Glendora, Chamber Chairman of Christmas Decorations, addressed Council and requested the City forces put up the Christmas decorations this year, as this would allow the City to have more decora- tions. Louis Zimmerli, 925 W. 1st Street, president of the Chamber of Commerce, appeared before Council and explained that last year eight strings of decorations cost the Chamber $2,600. This year, with City forces hanging the decorations, the Chamber can have twenty-three strings for only $1,750. The Chamber will lease the decorations this year and purchase them next year. Then each year after that, they can add additional decorations for a small sum. After discussion, it was Moved by Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Rubio 'and unanimously carried by roll call to approve the request and instruct the Public Works and Light & Power Departments to assist the Chamber. A request was received from Dina Dangleis, Business Appvl.City Manager for the staff of Azusa High Schoo"s Yearbook purch,of adv. for City to purchase advertising in the Yearbook, in Azusa H.S.
