The Chamber has for more than a century been the principal citywide advocate for businesses and has been historically recognized as the representative of all businesses, which contribute substantially to the City's revenue base. The Chamber's activities are recognized by law as being in the public interest and serving a public purpose. Our Chamber model is not unlike other Chambers in our region. Annual member's dues are tier based on their number of employees. Membership dues comprise 8% of the Chamber's revenue. Being a not for profit; we hold fund raising events. The Chamber is grateful to have our long-standing agreement with the City of Azusa. All Chambers were impacted by the pandemic. We were precluded from holding any in person events. During the pandemic most Chambers closed their doors. Azusa never closed their doors. Some Chambers are no longer doing ribbon cuttings. Azusa is still doing ribbon cuttings. ➢ The Chamber is giving welcome goody bags to the residents of the Orchard. We will do the same for Lumia. ➢ As part of Golden Days the Chamber is hosting their annual Taste of The Town on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. ➢ We are partnering with the Rotary Club on their Field of Glory. ➢ The Chamber is partneting with Azusa Pacific University to put on business seminars in the fall. 240 W. The Chamber will deliver a total of 163, welcome bags. ➢ PPE Program: The Chamber continues to handout much needed PPE. This is an ongoing program. ➢ Chamber Coalition Meetings: The CEO, attended VACE and SGVLCC meetings and one City Council Meeting in January. ➢ Chamber Social Media: The Chamber continues to broadcasts on our social media platforms any relevant city information provided to us. The Chamber continues to broadcast Covid-19 updates, These updates are sourced from LACO, the state and the Federal governments.
