CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Respectfully Submitted by Steven Castro, CEO
The Azusa Chamber of Commerce was established in 1850
The Chamber has special knowledge, experience and facilities
for disseminating information and legislative advocacy, is organized for
and equipped to carry on promotional activities on behalf of the City
and publicize and further the economic and regional advantages that
the City has to offer to businesses, residential and our educational
institutions.
The Chamber has for more than a century been the principal
citywide advocate for businesses and has been historically recognized
as the representative of all businesses, which contribute substantially to
the City's revenue base.
The Chamber's activities are recognized by law as being in the
public interest and serving a public purpose. Our Chamber model is
not unlike other Chambers in our region. Annual member's dues are
tier based on their number of employees. Membership dues comprise
8% of the Chamber's revenue. Being a not for profit; we hold fund
raising events.
The Chamber is grateful to have our long-standing agreement
with the City of Azusa. All Chambers were impacted by the pandemic.
We were precluded from holding any in person events. During the
pandemic most Chambers closed their doors. Azusa never closed their
doors. Some Chambers are no longer doing ribbon cuttings. Azusa is
still doing ribbon cuttings.
➢ The Chamber is giving welcome goody bags to the
residents of the Orchard. We will do the same for Lumia.
➢ As part of Golden Days the Chamber is hosting their
annual Taste of The Town on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
➢ We are partnering with the Rotary Club on their Field of
Glory.
➢ The Chamber is partneting with Azusa Pacific University
to put on business seminars in the fall.
