The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
in, regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens,
Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone, City Attorney
Tscharner and City Clerk.
Absent: None.
Each member present acknowledged receipt of
a written copy of the minutes of the regular
meeting of May 31 1943. The Mayor asked if
there were any objections or corrections to MINUTES APPRO VED
' said minutes. There being none, the minutes
of May 3, 1943 were approved as written.
A written request to use the swimming pool
on the 26th and 27th of May, signed by the
President of the Azusa Schobl Board, was
offered.
Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Council-
man Bradshaw, this request be granted, with REQUEST TO USE
the understanding the City be protected from SWIMMING POOL
all liability. GRANTED
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw,
Morden, Malone.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
A notification of transfer of Alcoholic LIQUOR APPLICATION
Beverage License from Teodora Moronez to
Aurelio De La Cruz, was read. No action taken.
A letter signed by Cornelius Smith, Secretary
of the Azusa Planning Commission, recommending
the request of the Aerojet Engineering
Corporation relative to the re -zoning of REQUEST TO RE -
certain lots in Subdivision #2 Azusa Land and ZONE PORTION OF
' Water Company be granted, was read. CEf?TAIN LOTS IN
Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by SUB #2 AZUSA LAND

commendation of the Planning Commission and
order same placed on file.

Councilman Owens, the Mayor be authorized
and instru cted to sign a letter requesting MAYOR AUTHORIZED
deferment for Edmund Thompson, Traffic TO STGV LETTER.

Councilman Morden offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA ADOPTING BUDGET SET FORTH IN PROJECT
STATEMENT TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE DIRECTOR OF
PUBLIC WORKS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, FOR
THE EXPENDITURE OF 4 CENT GAS TAX ON STREETS
OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING
JUNE 30, 1944 WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA.

man Lamm, this Resolution be adopted as read
and numbered Resolution No. 1792.
Carried by the following cote of the Council;

Morden, Malone.

Councilman Lamm offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA ADOPTING BUDGET SET FORTH IN PROJECT
STATEMENT TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE DIRECTOR OF
PUBLIC WORKS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR
EXPENDITURE OF 4 CENT GAS TAX ON STATE HIGH-
WAYS WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA FOR THE 1943-1944
BIENNIUM.

man Bradshaw, this Resolution be adopted as
read and numbered Resolution No. 1793.

' Councilman Lamm offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA APPLYING TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, TO CANCEL
TAXES LEVIED AND ASSESSED AGAINST PROPERTY
OWNED BY THE CITY OF AZUSA AND HELD FOR PUBLIC
PURPOSES.
Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by
Councilman Bradshaw, this Resolution be adopted
as read, and numbered Resolution No. 1794.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw,
Morden, Malone.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Council-
man Bradshaw, the City Clerk be authorized and
instructed to advertise for Bids on a coupe for
use in the Light Department.

Morden, Malone.

Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by
Councilman Morden, the two Full Time Firemen
be given time off every Sunday, and a capable
relief man designated by the Fire Chief to
relieve them; his compensation for such work
to be $7.00 for a 24 hour shift.

It was unanimously agreed the City Clerk be
instructed to request all owners of vacant lots
to burn the weeds and clean the lots, making PROPERTY OWNERS
it their patriotic duty to keep the vacant lots REQUESTED TO
free from weeds to protect the property of CLEAN WEEDS FROM
others from serious damage by fire. VACANT LOTS.

man Lamm, the following requisitions be allowed:
1624-1625-1685.
