HomeMy WebLinkAboutE-11 Staff Report - PD Parking Lot Agenda AmendmentCONSENT ITEM E-11 TO: VIA: FROM: DATE: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL SERGIO GONZALEZ, CITY MANAGER ROCKY WENRICK, CHIEF OF POLICE JULY 17, 2023 SUBJECT: FIRST AMENDMENT TO AZUSA POLICE DEPARTMENT PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENT BLOCK WALL AND ENTRY GATES AGREEMENT. BACKGROUND: On April 17, 2023, the City Council awarded a contract to Roberts Iron Works Inc. for $98,265.00 to construct CIP #4680000310 7120 31023B 7120, PD Parking Lot. The scope of work for this project approved the construction of an additional secured parking area for Azusa Police Personnel and additional secured parking for both police and city fleet vehicles. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action(s): 1) Approve the First Amendment to the agreement authorizing a change in the scope of the project and an increase in the amount of $13,277.12 for CIP #4680000310 7120 31023B 7120, PD Parking Lot. ANALYSIS: During construction, it was determined by the City to extend the secured parking facility by approximately 25 linear feet. The extension of the parking facility will cost an additional $13,277.12. The allowable change order amount for this contract is $9,826.00. Thus, this proposed addition requires an additional $3,451.12 in change order money (totaling $13,277.12).
