'Planning Director Fitzsimmons addressed Council and stated that this property was zoned RA -20,000 prior to annexation because that zoning was least objectionable and would result in the fewest protests on annexation. Mayor Decker asked Mrs. Franklin if that would be satisfactory, instead of removing tree, and she agreed. Approve the construction of the main using city forces and waive bidding procedures under the Municipal Code finding it impracticable, useless and uneconomical to follow such procedures, and that public welfaru would be promoted by dis- pensing with same. 3. Authorize the employment of five (5) temporary street maintenance men fora eriod of one year at Step 1, Range 114.0, 3.952 per hour, (Public Works Maintenance Man I, classification). When Ordinance point of sale occurs outside the City of Azusa, tax will be .035¢ per ton. This tax would be due on all materials shipped from processing plants located within the City of Azusa. City Administrator .prysbabsd`preliminary budget for Preliminary fiscal year 1975-76, noting that estimated revenues budget.for total $9 518,606 and estimated expenditures total 1975-76 $10,321,+26, leaving estimated deficit of $802,820. City Administrator suggested Council should set up a budget session before adjourning meeting. No action by Council. He explained his concern re: Study newspaper coverage of inter -city disputes and conflict on the matter. Mayor Decker and City Administrator answered stating that as far as they were concerned the merger study was proceeding as planned. Councilman Arkison discussed possibility of seeking paramedic funding for the City. He stated that Azusa is one of the last cities in the area to provide this type of service to its citizens. Moved by Councilman Arkison, seconded by Councilman Cruz that the City apply for Federal Funding for Paramedic Training. Motion failed by the following vote of Council: AYES: Councilmen: Cruz, Arkison NOES: Councilmen: Rubio, Solem, Decker ABSENT: Councilmen: None Request that Lt. Raymond Roth be permitted to attend the Organized Crime Informant Development and Maintenance Course in Sacramento May 5 thru 9, 1975. All costs are reimbursed by POST. Police Chief filed charges with City Council for the dismissal of Officer Larry Hodge. Charges filed in accordance with Sec. 2.36.040 of Municipal Code, ' referenced with the same section, it is recommended that Council refer charges to Personnel Board for a hearing.
