'Planning Director Fitzsimmons addressed Council and
stated that this property was zoned RA -20,000 prior to
annexation because that zoning was least objectionable
and would result in the fewest protests on annexation.
It was recommended that City Council find that the grant-
ing of this zone change, as requested, will have no
detrimental environmental effects, and that change of
zone from RA -20,000 to Rla be approved.

repaired within three months. Mayor Decker asked Mrs.

that public welfare: would be promoted by dis-
pensing with same.

City Administrator pr�esieatad preliminary budget for Preliminary
fiscal year 1975-76, noting that estimated revenues budget for
total $9 518,606 and estimated expenditures total 1975-76
$10,321,+26, leaving estimated deficit of $802,820.
City Administrator suggested Council should set up a
budget session before adjourning meeting. No action
by Council.
Director of Parks and Recreation submitted a request Req.for

Councilman Arkison requested information on status of
Fire Merger Study. He explained his concern re:
newspaper coverage of inter -city disputes and conflict
on the matter.
Mayor Decker and City Administrator answered stating
that as far as they were concerned the merger study
was proceeding as planned.
Councilman Arkison discussed possibility of seeking
paramedic funding for the City. He stated that Azusa
is one of the last cities in the area to provide this
type of service to its citizens.
Moved by Councilman Arkison, seconded by Councilman Cruz
that the City apply for Federal Funding for Paramedic
Training. Motion failed by the following vote of Council:

NOES: Councilmen: Rubio, Solem, Decker
ABSENT: Councilmen: None
Request that Lt. Raymond Roth be permitted to attend
the Organized Crime Informant Development and Maintenance
Course in Sacramento May 5 thru 9, 1975. All costs are
reimbursed by POST.
