b. The employees in the classes of fireman and
engineer in the City Fire Department have common
skills, interests, and working conditions and
are entitled to the fullest freedom in the
exercise of the employee rights set forth in the
Meyers-Milias-Brown Act.
c. The inclusion of the classes of fireman and
engineer in a single representation unit will
make it possible for those employees to be represented
' by a single employee organization and will
contribute to sound employer-employee relations.
On the basis of the foregoing findings, I move that the City
Council determine that a single representation unit be
established consisting of the employees employed in the
classes of fireman and engineer in the Fire Department.
Mr. Mayor, I also move that the Covina -Azusa Firefighters
