The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned regular session at the above time and place. Mayor Pro Tem Arkison called the meeting to order. Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Arkison Absent: Mayor Solem Also Present: City Administrator Dangleis, Finance Officer Cooney, City Clerk Solis Notice was received of the resignation of Betty Forsythe, Personnel Clerk, effective June 13, 1977. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Decker and unanimously carried to accept resignation. Finance Officer submitted request that certain city owned property be declared surplus and sold through informal bids. Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry and unanimously carried to approve request. Mr. William Beresford, Consumer Service Manager requested a leave of absence without pay from June 20th thru 24th, 1977. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Cruz and unanimously carried to approve request. A proposed Resolution was presented honoring and commend- ing the musical group from the General Telephone Company. Councilman Decker offered the Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA HONORING AND COMMENDING "THE GENERAL HAPPENING" FOR ITS MANY CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY. Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry and unanimously carried by roll call that further reading be waived. Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry that the Resolution be adopted. Resolution passed and adopted by the following vote of Council: AYES: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Arkison NOES: Councilmen: None ABSENT: Mayor Solem City Administrator presented for consideration the appointment of an architect for remodelling the Civic Auditorium. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Cruz and unanimously carried by roll call to employ Edward Daggermangy as architect to remodel the Civic Auditorium. City Administrator requested authorization for the following vacation dates for fiscal year 1977-78: July 5 - 8, 1977 August 19 - September 7, 1977 December 19 - 28, 1977 March 13 - 17, 1978 Call to Order Accptnc.resig. The 1976 annual report from Community Medical Enterprises Comm.Medical was presented to Council. No action taken by Council. Enterprises (Will be acted upon at a later meeting). annual rpt. The proposal from Mark Briggs & Associates to provide Mark Briggs & grant assistance to the City of Azusa, which had been Assoc.proposal from the June 6, 1977 meeting, was presented (tabled) 'continued to Council. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Decker and unanimously carried to table to next budget session. Finance Officer presented for Council consideration, 1977-78 1977-78 Maintenance Contracts, continued from the Maint. June 6, 1977 meeting. Contracts awarded M C4 Lf; C Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Arkison and unanimously carried by roll call to accept low bids as recommended. Miscellaneous water items continued from June 6, 1977 meeting were presented to Council. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Arkison Drought and unanimously carried by roll call to accept recommenda- Measure tions of Director of Public Works predicated on reimbursement of City expenditure for drought items to be provided to residents. Councilman Decker dissenting. Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry 'and unanimously carried to continue the Water Rate Study to the next budget session. Councilman Decker left meeting at 7058 p.m. City Administrator presented Budget Account #5040 (Finance) for review by Council. Object Account #235 was reduced by $150. Object Account #320 was reduced by $200. Object Account #440 reduced by $1,000. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Cruz and unanimously carried to approve Budget Account #5040 as amended. City Administrator presented Budget Account #5131 (Insurance) for review by Council; this account to be held over. City Administrator presented Budget Account #5140 (Revenue Refund) for review by Council. Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Fry and unanimously carried to approve Budget Account #5140 'as submitted. City Administrator presented Budget Account #5195 (Tax -,Collection) for review by Council. Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Fry and unanimously carried to approve Budget Account #5195 as submitted.
