CIVIC AUDITORIUM AZUSA; CALIFORNIA MONDAY, FEBRUARY 5.1979 7:30 p.m.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in
.the salute to the flag.
Invocation was given by Monsignor Robert Stein of St.
Frances of Rome Catholic Church.
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz,
Moses, Solem
Also Present: City Attorney Newton, City Administrator
Dangleis, Superintendent of Light &
Power Gerharz, Director of Public Works
Wells, Finance Officer Cooney, Planning
Director Fitzsimmons, Director of Commun-
ity Services Guarrera, City Clerk Solis
00 Mayor Solem and the Members of Council presented a plaque
and Resolution to 0. J. Conforti's widow, honoring his

.-+ years of service to the City of Azusa.

January 15 1979., Council Meeting stand approved as
written.
The hour of 7:30 p.m. being the time set for the second
Public Hearing on the proposed amendment to the 1978-79
Housing and Community Development Budget, as required by
law, the Mayor declared the hearing open.
The City Clerk read affidavit of proof of publication
of Notice of Hearing published in the Azusa Herald on
January 25, 1579•t'!'

Moses and unanimously carried to close the hearing.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Cruz
and unanimously°carried to amend the 1978-79 Housing and
Community Development as outlined by Urban Futures, Inc.
Council adjourned to Redevelopment Agency at 7:55 p.m.
Moved by Director Cruz, seconded by Director Moses and
unanimously carried to reconvene as City Council at
8:09 P.M.
Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Cruz and
unanimously carried to approve decision of the City Clerk
re: business license tax for American Map Distributor's
Vending machines, i.e. a common cabinet housing more
than one independent coin mechanism would be taxed as
one machine.

and unanimously carried to deny and refer to City's
insurance carrier, claim vs City by Gerald C. Escobedo,
105 N. Fenimore Street, Azusa, for alleged damage to his
property and person. Incident occurred on January 5, 1979•

and unanimously carried to advise Robert Barra, 385 N.
Rockvale, Apt. #27, Azusa, his claim vs City for alleged
damage to vehicle, when he ran into ditch that had no
barricade, is denied and should be referred to Lesney
Development Company, contractor for this project.

a certain City employee should be retired for disability
entitled:

AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 6745 FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT A CERTAIN CITY EMPLOYEE IS INCAPACITATED FOR THE
PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES AND SHOULD BE RETIRED FOR
DISABILITY. (Section 21023.6 Government Code).

CITIES FUNDS FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF SELECT SYSTEM OF

and unanimously carried to approve the Notice of Com-
pletion for installation of 20" water main in Crescent
Drive from Vernon Avenue to Angeleno Avenue, and
direct the City Clerk to file said Notice of Completion.

and unanimously carried to have City Attorney prepare a
Resolution amending the complement in the Police Depart-
ment, reducing it by one Police Lieutenant position,
and adding a Police Records Supervisor, and further
direct the Personnel Board to develop a job description
and salary range for position of Police Records Super-
visor.

read in full.
