The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led 1n the Call to Order
salute to the flag.
Invocation was given by Rev. E. Nelson of the Foursquare Invocation
Gospel Church of Azusa.

unanimously carried to reconvene as City Council at
7:41 p.m.
Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Moses Req.from
and unanimously carried to ratify, polling of Council, Azusa Youth
for permission to allow the Azusa Youth Club to hold a Club ratified
Boxing Exhibition, March 17, 1979, at the St. Frances
'of Rome Parish Hall.
Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Moses Appvl.req.
and unanimously carried to approve request from Azusa from Scout
Boy Scout Troop 418, for waiver of Municipal Code Troop 418
requirement, Section 8.36.040, b-1, that principal and
permanent meeting place must be in the City limits of
Azusa.
Moved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman Cruz Zacatecas
and carried by roll Gall to grant permission for Lt. Assistance
Trujillo, and Fire Chief Littlefield to provide technical Program
assistance to Zacatecas (Azusa's Sister City), with the
condition that assistance will be given on their vacation
time, with transportation to Zacatecas be provided by
Sister City International. Councilmen Decker and Fry
dissenting.
Mayor Solem suggested the Finance Officer investigate
to see if any federal funding is available to help
finance purchasing equipment for above program.

from the Personnel Board for employee salary increases,
as action was taken by Council at its meeting of March 5,

The Planning Commission by Resolution No. 1550 denied a
Varaince to allow a reduced side yard setback of 1'
instead of required 5' on property located at 728 North
Solando Avenue (Variance Case No. V-610 Juan E. Cuara).
'No action taken by Council.
The Planning Commission by Resolution No. 15 1 approved
a Variance to permit a reduced lot width of 45' instead
of required 60' and a reduced side yard setback of 4'
instead of required 5' on property located at 644 West
Tenth Street Variance Case No. V-614 Eula B. Weir). No
action taken by Council.
The Planning Commission by Resolution No. 1552 approved a
QO Varaince to allow 7' between an addition to a residence
CIO., and an accessory building instead of the required 10' and
t. reduced access to the required two -car garage on property
•-+ located at 406 S. Orange Avenue (Variance Case No. V-616
VSharon K. Dominguez). No action taken by Council.
The Planning Commission by Resolution No: 1553 disapproved
a change of zone classification from R-2 to R-3 on property
located at 427 North Solando Avenue (Zone Change Case
No. Z-213 John M. Ramirez). No action taken by Council.
