The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in
the salute to the flag.
Invocation was given by Father Gilbert Cruz of the
St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church.

and unanimously carried by roll call to approve for Gladstone
ratification of payment of $125.00 to Gladstone High H.S. Ad
School for ad in high school annual.
Moved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman Cruz
and unanimously carried to receive and file request from
City of San Fernando for City of Azusa's participation
and financial support in its lawsuit by Ray Marshall,
Secretary of Labor, U. S. Department of Labor re: violation
of age discrimination in employment act of 1967.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry
and unanimously carried to receive and file ABC Notice
for On -Sale Beer and Wine, eating place (original
Application) for Marie Casillas and Steve Rappa for
premises located at 1155 East Alosta Avenue.
Moved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman Fry
and unanimously carried to approve request for transfer
of Secretary from City Clerk's Department to another
Department with consideration of possible changes to
employee complements of both departments.

and unanimously carried to refer request for Senior
Secretaries, Connie Lara, Tylene Warner and Mary Guzman
to attend Time Management Seminar on May 8, 1979, in
Los Angeles, to City Administrator for determination
and decision on above matter.
Councilman Fry repeated Council policy regarding request
' for attendance by City employees at various meetings.
All such requests should go to City Administrator for

The Planning Commission by Resolution No. 1557 denied P.C.Res.#1557
Variance to allow waiver of the two -car garage requirement denied Var.

The Planning Commission by Resolution No. 1558 denied
