AZUSA, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, MAY 7, 1979 7:30 p.m.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in Call to Order
the salute to the flag.
Invocation was given by Reverend Richard C. Addison Invocation
of the First Baptist Church of Azusa.

The hour of 7:30 p.m. being the time set for the Public Pub.Hrg. on

unanimously carried to close the hearing.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Cruz
and unanimously carried by roll call to approve the variance
request as petitioned by George Goode.
Chief Elkins presented Certificates for successfully com- Certificates
pleting the San Garbriel Valley Law Enforcement Explorer to .Explorer
Academy, to Explorer Scouts Adolph Aranda, Billy Camacho, Scouts
Robert DeBow, Robert Gurrola and Rosemary Gurrola.
Council congratulated the Explorer Scouts for their
involvement and dedication to the community by working
with the Police Department.
Council adjourned to Redevelopment Agency at 7:51 p.m. Adj. to CRA
CRA reconvened as City Council at 8:56 'p.m. Reconvened

Mayor Solem requested that Director of Community Services
investigate possibility of pruning said tree, and that
Chief of Police initiate extra patrol, due to outbreak
of burglaries at that location.

Janet MacDougall for alleged negligence on part of City
for allowing ultra hazardous materials at Norac Co.,
resulting in death of her son; and for alleged statements
made by agents of the City to the press, implicating the
deceased son as a causative factor in the Norac Company
fire.
