Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in the salute to the flag. Invocation was given by Reverend Frank Herber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. resent at Roll Call: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Moses, Solem Ilso Present: City Attorney Newton, City Administrator Dangleis, Finance Officer Cooney, Chief of Police Elkins, Fire Chief Littlefield, Director of Community Services Guarrera, Planning Director Fitzsimmons, Director of Public Works Wells, Personnel Clerk Filer, City Clerk Solis There being no additions or corrections, Minutes of the June 41 1979 regular meeting and the June 6, 1979 and June 12, (D 1979 adjourned regular meetings stand approved as written. =Council convened as Joint CRA and City Council at 7:39 p.m. A Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Moses, Solem The Continued Public Hearing on Proposed First Amendment to the Redevelopment Plan for the Azusa Central Business District Redevelopment Project was brought before Council. city Administrator presented communication from the lanning Commission, in form of Resolution #1569, recommend - ng that Proposed First Amendment be approved. He also read communications from Los Angeles County Sanitation District and the Southern California Association of Governments, also stating that they had no objections to the Proposed First Amendment. Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry and unanimously carried to receive communications and place in report. There being no public testimony on the draft subsequent Environmental Impact Report or the Proposed Plan Amendment, it was, Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Moses and carried by roll call to close the Hearing. Councilman Cruz dissenting. Councilman Decker offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA CERTIFYING THE FINAL SUBSEQUENT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT SPORT FOR THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN OR THE AZUSA CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT REDEVELOPMENT ROJECT AND MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS WITH RESPECT TO THE 'OTWIRONMENTAL IMPACTS OF SAID AMENDMENT. Councilman Moses requested that Planning Director look into Pallets on possible fire hazard caused by pallets lying on Miller Miller propty Brewery property. Councilman Moses also requested that Handicapped Signs Handicapped indicating "No Parking" at Memorial Park be looked into, signs -Memel s the signs are apparently 9 feet high and extend into Park reel, oved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman'Cruz Ltr to U.S. and unanimously carried that letter be written to the U.
