Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in the salute to the flag. Invocation was given by Monsignor Robert J. Stein, of the St. Frances of Rome Church. esent at Roll Call: Rso Present: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Moses, Solem City Attorney Newton, City Administrator Dangleis, Finance Officer Cooney, Fire Chief Littlefield, Director of Public Works Wells, Chief of Police Elkins, Superintendent of Light & Power Gerharz, Director of Community Services Guarrera, Planning Director Fitzsimmons, City Clerk Solis There being no additions or corrections, Minutes of the July 2, 1979 regular meeting stand approved as written. Councilman Decker presented a plaque to John Jurkovich for his outstanding service to the City of Azusa, as a Business License Inspector. Councilman Moses presented a plaque to Stephen Archibald for his outstanding service to the City as a Reserve Police Officer. Director of Community Services introduced to City Council Mr. Peter Selak, Jr., who is replacing Jesse Duff as Recreation Superintendent. Joe Torres introduced Sister City Youth Exchange udents from Zacatecas and their chaperone, Mrs. Margarita Alonso, to City Council, and at the same time, they each received a gift from the City Council. Mrs. Alonso presented a gift to the Mayor which will be displayed at City Hall. Council adjourned to Redevelopment Agency at 7:55 p.m. CRA reconvened as City Council at 8:14 p.m. Moved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman Cruz and unanimously carried to delete the following passage from proposed resolution regarding signalized intersections: "(ggggg) Vernon Avenue Southbound and Foothill Boulevard, both directions." Councilman Decker offered the resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 5396 DESIGNATING STOP AND SIGNALIZED INTERSECTIONS.
