CIVIC AUDITORIUM AZUSA, CALIFORNIA TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 1979 7:30 p.m.
The; City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in Call to Order
the salute to the flag.
Invocation was given by Reverend Frank Herber of the Invocation
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: .Decker, Fry, Cruz, Roll Call

There being no additions or corrections, the Minutes of Ap vl.Min.of

Councilman Cruz presented a plaque to Mr. Paul Allen Plaque
for his years of service to the City as a member of Paul Allen

The City Clerk announced that bids were opened in his
office on Thursday, August 30, 1979, at 10:00 a.m, for
one (1) 1979 portable compressor for the Water Division
of the Public Works Department.
City Clerk read affidavit of proof of publication of
Notice Inviting Bids, published in the Azusa Herald on
August 16, 1979•
The following bids were received:

and unanimously carried to deny claim/summons of Simon Simon W. Lucero
Wilfred Lucero, for alleged damage to uis vehicle due
to traffic collision with Parks Department vehicle, on
December 13, 1978, and refer to City's Insurance carrier.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Cruz
and unanimously carried to deny the claim/summons of
Linda Rivera for alleged false arrest and battery by
Azusa Police Officers on December 27, 1978, and
authorize the City Attorney and firm of Burke, Williams
& Sorensen to represent the City in the proceedings.

and carried by roll call to approve claim vs City by the
Azusa Elks Club for alleged sewer damage occuring on
December 20, 1978. Councilman Decker dissenting.
Moved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman Cruz
and unanimously carried to deny claim of Alice Kevorkian
for alleged injuries sustained when tripping over a
section of uneven sidewalk on July 27, 1979, and refer
to City's Insurance carrier.

Hibbert for alleged damages to his vehicle by Senior
