CIVIC AUDITORIUM AZUSA, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 1981 7:30 p.m.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order
salute to the Flag.
Invocation was given by Reverend Fred T. Kolosick of the Invocation
Azusa World Baptist Church.

Public Works be authorized to attend the 16th Annual
League of California Cities Public Works Officers Insti-
tute, March 18-20, 1981 in Sacramento.
Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Moses
and unanimously carried by roll call that Director of
Public Works be authorized to receive informal quotes
for the purchase of a paint truck, with all appurtenances
in lieu of dump truck, as budgeted, waiving formal bid-
ding procedures under the Municipal Code, finding it
impracticable, useless and uneconomic in this instance
to follow such procedures and that public welfare would
be promoted by dispensing with same; further, that City
Administrator have final approval of requested truck.
It was consensus of Council that City Attorney prepare
updated report on litigation that exists between the
City of Los Angeles and the County of Los Angeles and
Music Plus Stores, to be presented at meeting of
February 17, 1981.
Councilman Fry requested information with regard to
reasons that City of Azusa does not have built in pro-
tection for rising costs in conjunction with SB 99 low
interest mortgages and requested information as to
responsible parties for this oversight.

and unanimously carried that apartment building at 451 W.
Foothill Blvd. be inspected once a month for sub-
standard building violations and that Council be apprised
of same. It was further directed that ownership of the
building be made public.
Councilman Cruz requested that Council be advised of
the individual appointed to fill the part-time position
of Business Licenses/Zoning Inspector.
Councilman Fry offered a resolution authorizing payment
of warrants by the City which the City Clerk read in
full.
