A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON APRIL 8, 1980, DECLARING
THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED
BY LAW. I
Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Decker and
unanimously carried to waive further reading.
Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Decker
that resolution be adopted. Resolution passed and adopted
by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Moses, Solem
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE
FACT OF THE GENERAL !,TUN'ICIPAL ELECTION
HELD IN SAID CITY ON APRIL, 8, 1980,
DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH
OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW.

required by law; and

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTIbN 1. That there were 13 voting precincts established for
the purpose of hc1ling said election consisting of consolidations of the
regular election precincts in said City as established for the holding of
state and county elections.
SECTION 2. That said regular general municipal election was held
for the purpose of electing the following officers of said City as required
by laws relating to cities in the State of California; to wit:
a Mayor of said City for the full term of two years
2 members of the City Council of said City for the full
term of four years;
a City Clerk of said City for the full term of four years;
a Citv Treasurer of said City for the full term of Four years.
SECTION 3. That at said regular general municipal election,
following advisory measure was submitted to the electors of said City,
Shall the State of California apportion the existing
six cents sales and use tax so that two cents rather
than the present one cent be allocated to be used by
cities, counties and special districts?

That the names of the persons voted for at said election for City

That the names of the persons voted for at said election for City
Treasurer of said City are as follows:
ROBERT E. TALLEY
That the advisory measure voted upon at said election is as follows:
SHALL THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA APPORTION THE EXISTING SIX
CENTS SALES AND USE TAX SO THAT TWO CENTS RATHER THAN THE
PRESENT ONE CENT BE ALLOCATED TO BE USED BY CITIES, COUNTIES
AND SPECIAL DISTRICTS?
That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of
votes given in the City to each of such personslabove named for the respective
offices for which said persons were candidates and for and against the
advisory measure were as listed in Exhibit "A" attached.
SECTION 6. The City Council does declare and determine that:
JENS J. SOLEM was elected as Mayor of said City for the full
term of two years;
EUGENE F. MOSES was elected as Member of the City Council of
said City for the full term of four years;
WILLARD R. DECKER wag elected as Member of the City Council
of said City for the full term of four years;
ADOLPH A. SOLIS was elected City Clerk of said City for the
full term of four years;
ROBERT E. TALLEY was elected City Treasurer of said City for
the full term of four years;
That as a result of said election, a majority of the qualified
voters voting on said advisory measure relating to S..L_ES TAY. REALLOCATION
did vote in favor thereof., and that said advisory measure was carried, and
shall be deemed adopted and ratified.
SECTION 7• The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City
Council of said City, a statement of the result of said election showing:
(1) The hole number of votes cast in the city;
(2) The names of the persons voted for;
(3) The measures voted upon;
(4) For Khat office each person ,-:as 'voted .'Cr;
(5) The r.,!,;1-er of votes riven at each precinct to each person,
and fOr and aCainst each measure;

SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shalllimmediately make and
deliver to each of such persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed
by the City Clerk and duly authenticated; that the City Clerk shall also
administer to each person elected, the Oath of Office prescribed in the
State Constitution of the State of California acid shall have them subscribe
thereto and file the same in the office of the City Clerk. Wiereupon, each
all of said persons so elected shall be inducted into the respective
ice to which they have been elected.
SECTION 9. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and.
adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original
Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of passage and adoption
thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Couhcil of said City,
in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED ON April 15, 1980
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by
the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular adjourned meeting thereof
held on the 15th day of April, 1980, by the following vote of the Council:

It was consensus of Council at Councilman Cruz' suggestion
that meeting be dedicated to the memory of�Mrs. Jane
Loether who passed away April 15, 1980.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Codncilman Fry
and unanimously carried to adjourn.
