CIVIC AUDITORIUM AZUSA, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, MAY 3, 1982 7:30 p.m.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order
salute to the Flag.
Invocation was given by Director of Community Services Invocation
Joe Guarrera.

Moved by Councilman Latta that a Safety Commission be
formulated advisory to the Council dealing with police,
fire and para -medic services, died for the lack of a
second.
Councilwoman Hart presented a resolution read by City
Administrator to Reverend Frank Herber for his services
to the City.
City Administrator read Proclamation in honor of
Correct Posture Month, which was presented by Councilman
Latta to Doctor Halburian.
City Council adjourned to Community Redevelopment Agency
at 5:06 p.m.
City Council reconvened at 8:07 p.m.
City Clerk announced that bids were opened in his
office on Thursday, April 29, 1982, for a 6" water line
along Rodecker Drive, Duell, Hanks and Second Streets,
Project No. 630.
City Clerk read affidavit of proof of publication of
Notice Inviting Bids -published in the Azusa Herald on
April 14th and 21st, 1982. Seventeen bids were received

City Clerk read affidavit of proof of publication of Notice
Inviting Bids published in the Azusa Herald on April 14, 1982.
One bid was received from Bob Thomas G.M.C. Truck and
Coach, in the amount of $18,965.00.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Latta
and unanimously carried by roll call to award contract
for 1982 five yard dump truck to Bob Thomas G.M.C. Truck
and Coach, in the amount of $18,965.00.
The hour of 7:30 p.m. being the time set for Continued
Public Hearing on appeal from action of the Planning Com-
mission granting approval for a conditional use permit for
a privately owned recreational facility (children's bicycle
moto-cross course), Case No. C-271, as appealed by Johnny
E. Johnson, the Mayor declared the Hearing re -opened.

Mayor Moses abstained from voting on subject moto-cross Mayor Moses
as he has property adjacent to proposed moto-cross and abstained
thus would constitute a conflict of interests.
Moved by Councilwoman Hart, seconded by Councilman Latta
and carried by roll call to uphold the action of the
Planning Commission and grant a conditional use permit
for privately owned moto-cross in a C-3 zone, subject to
conditions as stipulated by the Planning Commission;
further, that the City Attorney be directed to prepare
the necessary resolution. Mayor Moses abstaining.

Councilwoman Hart offered a resolution authorizing
payment of warrants by the City, which the City Clerk
read in full.

THE FUNDS OUT OF WHICH THE SAME ARE TO BE PAID.

that resolution be adopted. Resolution passed and
