CITY HALL CONFERENCE ROOM AZUSA, CALIFORNIA WEDNESDAY, MAY 14, 1980 7:00 pm
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in adjourned
regular session at the above time and place.
Mayor Solem called the meeting to order. Call to Order
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz,
Moses, Solem
' Also Present: City Administrator Dangieis, Finance Officer
Cooney, City. Clerk Solis, Jack Fleming and
representatives of his company.
Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Cruz and
unanimously carried by roll call to refer matter of tree
problem at 916 E. Nearfield to the Parks and Recreation
Commission.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Moses
that Library Department be severed from Community Services
Department with no attendant cost increase, carried by the
following vote of the Council:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Decker, Moses, Solem
NOES: COUNCILMEN: Cruz
ABSTAIN: COUNCILMEN: Fry
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Cruz and
unanimously carried by roll call to direct City Administra-
tor'to re -distribute to Council his reorganization report
relative to the consolidation of the Police and Fire
Departments.
'Councilman Fry also requested that City Administrator provide
report with regard to sworn police complement comparisions
with other cities in the surrounding area.
City Administrator advised current status of probable and
possible budgetary constraints and limitations imposed on
the city by Sacramento.
Mr. Jack Fleming and representatives of his corporation
addressed Council in an informal presentation on redevelop-
ment, in order to solicit information from Council as to
type of redevelopment desired.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Moses
and unanimously carried to adjourn.
