Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order salute to the flag. Invocation was given by Reverend Jim Lafolette of the Invocation Foursquare Gospel Church. City Clerk read affidavit of proof of publication of Notice of said Hearing published in the Azusa Herald on May 8, 1980. Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Cruz and unanimously carried to close the Hearing. Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Moses and unanimously carried to accept letter of withdrawal for Conditional Use Permit request from Windsor Financial Corporation, and to deny conditional use permit. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Moses and unanimously carried that City Administrator and Planning Director be authorized to attend Public Hearing regarding proposed conditional use permit to allow adult bookstore and adult arcade on the property located at 17515 E. Arrow Highway (County area), opposing said CUP and to file a written opposition also, as location is within City's sphere of `.nfluence. Item 5A as listed on the Agenda, i.e., oral presentation regarding students loitering at Azusa High School by Mrs. Doris Hannaford, was withdrawn by Mrs. Hannaford. Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry and unanimously carried that Director of Public Works inspect the Boy Scout Hall, 1300 block N. San Gabriel Avenue, listing items in need of repair with possible costs for same, and report to Council. Councilman Moses offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA APPOINTING JENNIE AVILA TO THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION.
