Mayor Solem called the meeting to order. Utility Clerk Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Moses Appvl paymnt for and unanimously carried to approve payment of $30.00 broken watch for replacement of wristwatch broken in line of duty by (N. Macias) Nicolas Macias. Moved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman Decker Appvl Memo, of and unanimously carried by roll call to accept recommend- Understanding ation of Personnel Board and approve Memoranda of Understanding between City and Azusa City Employees Association, Azusa Police Relief Association and Covina - Azusa Firefighters Union. Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Moses and unanimously carried that contract for paramedic service not be renewed, and that we return to Fire Rescue response with ambulance service utilized for transportation, further that City Administrator investigate new avenues for paramedic services, possibly with local hospitals. Portanova & Sons, Inc., in the amount of $649,000.00, authorize the transfer of $188,000.00 from the water reserve fund, a>>thorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the contract and direct the City Clerk to return bidders' guarantees to the unsuccessful bidders.
