The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order
salute to the flag.
Invocation was given by Reverend Frank Herber of the Invocation
Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints.
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Roll Call
Moses, Solem
Also Present: City Attorney Newton, City Administrator
Dangleis, City Department Heads and
Deputy City Clerk Lara
There being no additions or corrections, the Minutes of AP vl.Min.
the June 16, 1980, regular meeting and the Minutes of 66,6/19 &
the June 19, 1980, and June 30, 1980, adjourned regular 6/30/80 mtgs.
meetings stand approved as written.
City Council adjourned to Community Redevelopment Agency Adj. to CRA
at 7:35 p.m.
CRA reconvened as City Council at 8:14 p.m. Reconvened
The hour of 7:30 p.m. being the time set for Public Pub.Hrg.re:
Hearing on denial of Conditional Use Permit to allow denial of CUP
a 20 unit condominium development on the property located C -234 -Marti
at 737 S. Donna Beth Ave., Case No. C-234, Marti Enterprises
Enterprises, Inc., the Mayor declared the Hearing open.
Deputy City Clerk read affidavit of proof of publication (Approved)
of Notice of said Hearing published in the Azusa Herald
on June 19, 1980, and affidavit of proof of posting said
property on June 20, 1980.
Moved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman Decker
and unanimously carried to close the Hearing.
Moved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman Fry
and carried by roll call to approve conditional use
permit as requgsted by applicant subject to the condi-
tions as specified by the Planning Commission, further
that City Attorney prepare the necessary Resolution.
Councilman Decker dissenting.
Deputy City Clerk announced that bids were opened in her Bids -
office on July 3, 1980, 10:00 AM for the construction Reservoir
of a 2,000,000 gallon steel reservoir, Project No". 570. Proj.#570
Deputy City Clerk read affidavit of proof of publication
of Notice Inviting Bids published in the Azusa Herald
on June 19th and 26th, 1980.

Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Moses
and unanimously carried by roll call to award the
contract for Project No. 570 to A. A. Portanova & Sons,
. in the amount of $649,000.00, authorize the transfer
of Inc,,188,000.00 from the water reserve fund, ailthorize the
Mayor and City Clerk to execute the contract and direct
the City Clerk to return bidders' guarantees to the
unsuccessful bidders.
Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Moses
and unanimously carried that Environmental Impact
Report required for application of grant funds for said
Project No. 570, with proposed Negative Declaration be
approved finding that it is not detrimental to public
interest.

of diffuser rings, with aerators, in reservoirs #2, #5, rings for

were also apprised that in the event of graffiti problems
