CIVIC AUDITORIUM AZUSA, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, OCTOBER 63 1980 7:30 p.m.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order
salute to the Flag.
Invocation was given by Reverend Elmer Nelson of the Invocation
Foursquare Gospel Church.

and unanimously carried that Purchasing Agent be
authorized to negotiate for the replacement of the two
ten ton air conditioning units at the Police Station,
dispensing with formal bidding procedures, finding it
impracticable, useless and uneconomical to follow such
procedures and that public welfare would be promoted
by dispensing with same.
The City Clerk announced that bids were opened in his Bid Opening
office on Thursday, October 2, 1980, at 10:00 a.m, for Staff Offices

Memorial Park be rejected and that bid bonds be returned
to all bidders, and that City go out to bid for handicapped
rest rooms only at Memorial Park. Motion passed by the

that City Engineer be instructed to prepare plans and
specifications for handicapped restrooms at Memorial Park,
passed by the following vote of the Council:

Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Moses
and unanimously carried that letters of support be
prepared endorsing SLAM - Stronger Legislation Against
Child Molestors.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry
and carried by roll call to deny claims in accordance
with recommendation of City's insurance carrier, for
alleged food spoilage caused by power outage on July 11,
1980, by Mrs. Harvetta Major in the amount of $12.56 and
Mr. Daniel Bernica in the amount of $27.00. Councilman
Moses dissenting.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry
and carried by roll call to deny claims in accordance
with recommendation of City's insurance carrier, for
alleged food spoilage caused by power outage on August 9,
1980, by Mrs. Roberta Baca in the amount of $122.35 and
Mr. James Short, in the amount of $63.89. Councilman
Moses dissenting.
Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry
and unanimously carried to receive and file communica-
tion from Mr. Henry S. Barbosa of Ochoa, Holderness,
Barbosa and Crook regarding exclusive refuse contract,
Western Disposal Company.
