Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order salute to the Flag. Invocation was given by Reverend Elmer Nelson of the Invocation Foursquare Gospel Church. I Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Decker, Fry,'Cruz, Roll Call Moses, Solem Also Present: City Attorney Newton, City Administrator Dangleis, Finance Officer Cooney, Plan- ning,Director Fitzsimmons, Chief of Police Elkins, Assistant City Librarian Vandals, Fire Chief Littlefield, Director of Public Works Wells, Director of Community Services Guarrera, City Clerk Solis There being no corrections or additions, the Minutes of Appvl.Min.of the December 15, 1980 regular meeting stand approved as 12/15/80 mtg. written. Mayor Solem presented Resolution/Plaque, which the City Res./Plaque to Administrator read in full, to retired Fire Captain Harold Hubert Harold L. Hubert, for his services to the City. Council adjourned to Community Redevelopment Agency at Adj.to CRA 7:43 p.m. CRA reconvened as City Council at 8:34 p.m. Reconvened 'Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry, Staff to re - and unanimously carii ed by roll call, that based on structure Hong. action taken by Community Redevelopment Agency re: Senior & Comm.Dev.Prgm. Citizen Housing Facility, that staff be directed to restructure the Housing and Community Development Program. Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Decker that information regarding proposed revocation of business license, Websters Refuse Disposal be received and filed, and that no action be taken passed by the following vote of the Council: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Decker, Cruz, Solem NOES: COUNCILMEN: Fry, Moses ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Decker and unanimously carried to deny claims vs City by Mary Rojas, Phillip Pardo and Patricia Rose Pardo, for alleged assault and battery by Police Officers, when arrested on April 13, 1980. Councilman Fry offered a resolution entitled: 'A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REQUESTING AN ESTIMATE OF THE ASSESSED VALUATION OF PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Decker and unanimously carried to waive further reading. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Decker that resolution be adopted. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Cruz and unanimously carried that Police Sergeant Robert Termath be authorized to attend Traffic Program Manage- ment Institute, held at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, from January 25th through the 31st, 1981. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Cruz and unanimously carried to approve probationary appoint- ment of John Broderick as police sergeant, effective January 6, 1981. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Decker Appvl.plaque and unanimously carried that Mayor be authorized to to VFW present plaque to the State Commander of the VFW on the 18th of January, in conjunction with appreciation of Council for the American Flags flying in the City since hostages were taken in Iran.
