CIVIC AUDITORIUM AZUSA, CALIFORNIA MONDAY, APRIL 6, 1981 7':30 p.m.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order
salute to the Flag.
Invocation was given by Monsignor Robert Stein of the Invocation
St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church.
Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Roll Call

City Administrator introduced Mrs. Margaret Gillete, Intro.new
Police Records Supervisor and her husband, Jim, and also employees
Mr. Gene Blanton, Public Works Maintenance Worker, to to Cncl.
members of the City Council.
Council adjourned to Community Redevelopment Agency at Adj. to

CRA reconvened as City Council at 7:37 p.m. Reconvened
The hour of 7:30 p.m. being the time set for Public Pub.Hrg.re:
Hearing on appeal of action by the Planning Commission V-702 -
denying variance request to allow the waiver of the two- Estrella
car garage requirement for a single family residence on
the property located at 337 S. Louise Ave., as petitioned
by Salvador and Marina Estrella, Variance Case No. V-702,
the Mayor declared the Hearing open.
City Clerk read affidavit of proof of publication of
Notice of said Public Hearing, published in the Azusa
Herald on March 18, 1981, and affidavit of proof of
posting of said property on March 20, 1981.
Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Moses
and unanimously carried that the Hearing be closed.
Moved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman Decker
and unanimously carried, by roll call, to approve
variance request with condition that a bond, cash or
other security satisfactory to the City, be provided as
security that a two car garage would be provided at a

date in the future; further, that City Attorney
prepare the necessary resolution.

tive basis, authorize hiring of six temporary personnel
for a period not to exceed one month; further that an
evaluation critique be authorized in June, 1961.
