Mayor Solem called the meeting;to order and led in Call to Order the salute to the Flag. Invocation was given by Reverend Frank Herber of the Invocation Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Roll Call Moses, Solem Also Present: City Attorney Newton, City Administrator Dangleis, Finance Officer Cooney, Chief of Police Wood, Personnel Clerk Filer, Fire Chief Littlefield, Director of Community Services Guarrera, Assistant City Librarian Vandale, Superintendent of Light and Power Gerharz, Director of Public Works Wells, City Clerk Solis There being no additions or corrections, the Minutes of Ap vl.Min.of the July 20, 1981 regular meeting stand approved as 70/81 mtg. written. Mayor Solem presented a plaque to Mrs. Irene Gilbertson Plaque -Irene for her years of service to the City as Assistant Direc- Gilbertson for of Civil Defense. Citrus - 7 -Eleven Food Store. Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry Elks Chili and carried that the Azusa Elks Lodge No. 2038 be Cook -Off waive allowed to hang two banners across Foothill Blvd., dance fees & announcing their annual chili cook -off at Canyon City Appvl.to Hang Town, September 5th, 6th, and 7th, 1981; further, that all dance permit fees be waived for that charitable Banner 'Ghost event. Councilman Moses abstained, as he is the property owner of the Canyon City Ghost Town. City Administrator apprised Council that the Clean Up Clean Up Committee would be meeting on Thursday, August 6, 1961, Comm. mtg. and the first order of business was the street sweeping to discuss problem. street Swpng. Mr. Alva, Business License/Zoning Inspector apprised 451 W.Foothill Council of repairs being made at apartment house at 451 W. Foothill Blvd., and that said building was being checked daily.
