Mayor„Solem called the meeting to order and led in the salute Call to Order to the Flag. Invocation was given by Reverend Frank Herber of the Church Invocation of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Roll Call Moses, Solem \City Also Present! Attorney Newton, Assistant City Admin- istrator Cooney, Chief of Police Wood, Battalion Chief Schad, Assistant City Librarian Vandale, Superintendent of Light & Power Gerharz, Director of Community Services Guarrera, Director of Public Works Wells, City Clerk Solis. There being no additions or corrections, the Minutes of Ap vl.Min.of the August 17, 1981 regular meeting stand approved as 8717/81 mtg. written. Councilman Moses presented a resolution/plaque to Mrs. Res./Plaque Marie Lunnemann for her years of service to the City of to Marie Azusa as an employee in the City Clerk's Office. Lunnemann City Clerk introduced Mrs. Candace.Toscano, new employee Intro.new emp6 in the City Clerk's Office to the Mayor and members of C.Toscano the City Council. Council adjourned to Community Redevelopment Agency at Adj. to CRA 7:34 p.m. i Council reconvened,.at.7.:43.p.m. Reconvened Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Decker Para=medic ` bids Az/Cov, that Assistant City Administrator secure bids from various ambulance companies for para -medic services in the City Joint Contr. of Azusa possibly in conjunction with the City of Covina or West Covina, and that a report be provided with recom- mendations on the feasibility of such a joint agreement. Hearing on proposed amendment to the Housing Element of Prop.Amend.to the General Plan, the Mayor declared the Hearing open. Hsng.Elmnt.of General Plan City Clerk read affidavit of proof of publication of Notice of said Hearing published .in the Azusa Herald on August 19, 1981. Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Decker and unanimously carried to close the Public Hearing. Councilman Fry offered a resolution entitled: Res. ##7035 adptng.rev. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA Hsng.Element ADOPTING THE REVISED HOUSING ELEMENT OF THE GENER&L PLAN FOR THE CITY OF AZUSA AND ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENT THERETO. NO. 2106 DECLARING A MORATORIUM ON THE ISSUANCE OF ANY zones BUILDING PERMITS IN COMMERCIAL ZONES WITHIN THE REDEVEL- OPMENT AREA OF THE CITY PENDING COMPLETION OF A STUDY BY THE CITY OF APPROPRIATE LAND USES WITHIN SAID ZONES WITHIN THE REDEVELOPMENT AREA; SAID ORDINANCE TO BE ADOPTED AS AN URGENCY ORDINANCE PURSUANT TO SECTION 65858 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE. Finance Officer advised that Notice Inviting Bids was published in the Azusa Herald on August 26, 1981 and that notices were also posted throughout City Hall.
