Mayor Solem called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order salute to the Flag. Invocation was given by Reverend Bruce Redner of the Invocation Foursquare Gospel Church. Mayor Solem presented a resolution/plaque to Battalion Presentation Chief Clarence "Cass" Schad for his services to the of plaque - City, said resolution was read in full by City Adminis- C. Shad trator. Present at Roll Call: Councilmen: Decker, Fry, Cruz, Roll Call Moses, Solem Also Present: City Attorney Newton, City Administrator Dangleis, Finance Officer Cooney, Chief of Police Wood, Fire Chief Littlefield. Director of Community Development/Plan-, ning Cunningham, Director of Public Works Wells, Superintendent of Light and Power Gerharz, Director of Community Services, Guarrera, Personnel Clerk Filer, Assistant City Librarian Vandale, City Clerk Solis At the request of Councilman Moses the Minutes of the Appvl.Min.of regular meeting of December 21, 1961, were amended to 12/21/81 mtg. read "many" complaints rather than "several" complaints, as corrected as listed on Page 6, paragraph 5, line 5. The minutes were then approved as corrected. Mr. Salvador Velasquez of the East San Gabriel Valley Sr. Citizen 'Consortium, addressed Council regarding the senior Transportation citizen transportation program. Complaints had been received with regard to the service. All future com- plaints are to be referred to the Consortium Staff. City Council adjourned to Community Redevelopment Agency Adj.to CRA at 7:56 p.m. City Council reconvened at 8:10 p.m. Reconvened The hour of 7:30 p.m. being the time set for Continued Cont.Pub.Hrg. Public Hearing on sub -standard building at 171 N. Dalton sub -standard Avenue, Dednicia G. Lechuga, the Mayor declared the bldg. -171 N. Hearing re -opened. Dalton Ave. Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded'by Councilman Fry Init.Pet.not and unanimously carried that Initiative Petition not be be placed on placed on the ballot for the April 13th election based ballot on the City Attorney's Opinion, which Opinion, City Cty Attyrs Attorney read aloud, for the benefit of the audience; Opinion the gist of which stated that Initiative Petition, as sub- mitted, would be invalid if placed on the ballot. Moved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman Cruz Hrg. cont. and unanimously carried to continue Public Hearing for for 6 months a period of six months to allow owner of building ample time for rehabilitation of the structure. Moved by Councilman Decker, seconded by Councilman Fry Signature and unanimously carried to receive and file report from canvass City Clerk with regard to canvass of signatures for the Initiative Initiative Petition for contracting with Los Angeles Petition for Fire protection services.
