Mayor Solem presented a Proclamation, which the City Proclamation
Administrator read in full, to the Girl Scout Troop #977, Girl Scout
proclaiming the week of March 7-13, 1982 as "GIRL SCOUT Week
WEEK".
Councilman Fry presented a Resolution/Plaque, which the Res./Plaque to
City Administrator read in full, to Art Morales for his Art Morales
services to the City as a Personnel Board Member and as
'an involved citizen.
Councilman Cruz presented a Resolution, which the City Res. to Glenn
Administrator read in full, to Glenn Campbell for his Campbell
services to the City, and the Planning Department in
general, during the absence of a Planning Director.
City Council adjourned to Community Redevelopment Agency Adj. to CRA

Moved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman Fry
and unanimously carried by roll call that Director of
Community Services be authorized to advise the State
that grant funds are to be used for the refurbishment
of swimming pool at Slauson Park; further, directing the
Director of Public Works to do the necessary "Patch up"
work so that the pool can be used this season and that
bids be sought for complete refurbishment with fiber-
glass coating in the off-season.

and unanimously carried that Assistant Director of Civil
Defense/Safety Analyst be authorized to attend an Earth-
quake Preparedness Course to be held at Camp San Luis
Obispo, from May 17th -21st, 1982. It was requested by
Council that a brief synopsis of the information disseminated
at the seminar be forwarded to them, by Mr. Reininger.
Moved by Councilman Moses that Assistant Director of
Civil Defense/Safety Analyst be authorized to attend a
seminar on natural hazardous materials,in Emmitsburg,
Maryland, 3/22-26/82, died for the lack of a second.

and unanimously carried that two officers in the Police
Department be authorized to attend an Officer Safety and
Field Tactics Course in San Luis Obispo from April 19-23,
1982.

and unanimously carried to authorize any Council member
able to attend, a one day "March on the Capitol" to focus
media and legislative attention on city fiscal problems
and city opposition to the Governor's proposed budget,
Wednesday, March 17, 1982 at the Sacramento Convention
Center.

and unanimously carried to approve specifications for
Senior Citizen Nutrition Program and that City Clerk be
authorized to advertise for bids, with bidding closing
on March 22, 1982.

Gabriel Valley Consortium for report and recommendations.

Request for four-way stop signs on Vernon at 4th and
5th Streets was referred to the Director of Public
Works and the Chief of Police for feasibility study.
Moved by Councilman Moses, seconded by Councilman Cruz
and unanimously carried that City Attorney be instructed
to contact the Santa Fe Railroad and advise them of the
poor condition of railroad crossings in Azusa and that
these deficiencies need to be corrected as soon as
possible.
Councilman Decker offered a resolution authorizing pay-
ment of warrants by the City which the City Clerk read
in full.
