The City,Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the Civic Auditorium at the above time and date. ' Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order salute to the Flag. Invocation was given by Reverend James Herring of the Invocation Assembly of God Church. CEREMONIAL 'City Administrator introduced new Planning Assistant Intro. R. Yu' Mr. Rubin Yu to the City Council. Ping. Asst. Mr. Richard Montes, President of the Sister City Committee Intro. Youth' introduced the youth exchange students from Zacatecas and Exchange from their chaperone Leonila Avila Saucedo to the Council. Zacatecas The City Council presented gifts to the visiting students and chaperone from Zacatecas. City Council recessed at 7:44 P.M. Recessed City Council reconvened at 7:48 P.M. Reconvened CONSENT CALENDAR The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items 1 through 34 Consent Cai. was approved on motion of Councilman Decker, seconded appvd (#14;` by Councilwoman Hart, and unanimously carried by roll 15, 19, 29, call vote, with the exception of Items #14, 15, 19 and Spec.Call & 29, which were considered under the Special Call portion #26 with - of the Agenda. Item #26 was withdrawn completely as it drawn) pertained to the' Personnel Board, rather than the City Council, ' 1. BROWN FOR HIS SERVICES TO THE CITY. 3. Claim vs City by William Sayegh, for alleged false Claim vs City arrest and assault and battery, occurring when W. Sayegh arrested on March 20, 1982, was denied and referred to City's Insurance Carrier. 1 4. Claim vs City by Jamal Sayegh, for alleged injuries sustained when detained by police officer, occurring April 4, 1982, was denied and referred to City's Insurance Carrier. 5. Request for leave to present late claim vs City by Automobile Club of Southern California, subrogee for Constance Gay, for alleged injuries sustained and damages to vehicle, due to malfunctioning signals at Citrus and Gladstone, occurring November 27, 1981, was rejected. 6. Captain 10. The job specification sheet for classification of Job Specs Bonnie Woodson, Consumer Police Cadet was adopted and City Attorney directed Pol.Cadet ' to prepare the resolution. California Municipal 11. Revision of job specification sheet for classification Job Spec & of Superintendent of Light and Power and title change title change on August 20, 1982. to Utility Director was approved and City Attorney Utility Dir. Formal bidding procedures directed to prepare the resolution. Bids -Woman's 12. The resignation of Mrs. Toni Orrin, Senior Secretary Resign.Toni in the Fire Department, was accepted, effective Orrin, Sr. Low Bidder July 17, 1982, and a plaque to to be prepared to be Sec. Co. and the Mayor authorized to execute the Agreement. 21. Final Parcel Map No. 13494, located east of Hilltop Drive and north of Sierra Madre was approved and its recordation authorized. ' 22. Plans and specifications for installation traffic controllers on Fbothill Blvd. and of seven Sierra Madre Avenue and modification of existing signal system, Project No. 618, were approved and the City Clerk authorized to advertise for bids. 23. Plans and specifications for one industrial type wheel tractor with loader and backhoe, or equal, Project No. 635, was approved and the City Clerk authorized to advertise for bids. 24. RESOLUTION NO. 7157 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REQUESTING AN ALLOCATION OF COUNTY AID TO CITIES FUNDS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF SEVEN TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS ON FOOTHILL BLVD. AND SIERRA MADRE AVENUE AND MODIFICATION OF EXISTING SIGNAL SYSTEM. Parcel Map No. 13494 Proj. #618 Plans & Specs Plans & Specs Proj. 635 ' Res. #7157 Cnty. Aid to Cities 25. A part time employee in the Water Division of Public Part Time Works Deparment for a period of three months commenc- employee ing with August 16th, was approved.
