The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the Civic Auditorium at the above time and date. Mayor Moses called the meeting to order and led in the Call to Order salute to the Flag. Invocation was given by Reverend Raul Castro of the Invocation Ebenezer Spanish Assembly Church. Corcoran, dba Claim vs City Happy Jack Fish Farm, for alleged neglect by the J.S. & R.L. City to hold public hearings in connection with Corcoran excavation projects allowed in the City in 1973, was denied and referred to City's insurance carrier. 3. CEREMONIAL Auction -Huffy the Huffy Corporation, 1120 W. Foothill Blvd., was Councilwoman Hart presented a "Plaque to Mrs. Toni Orrin Plaqueto. The contract for Project No. 636, annual minor street improvement program, war awarded to American Construc- tion Company, lowest bidder, in the amount of $135,520.00. Seven bids were received and opened in the City Clerk's Office, on August 26, 1982, copies of quotes are on file. The Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to execute the contract and the City Clerk directed to return bidders' guarantees to the unsuc- cessful bidders. 8. The contract for Project No. 638, Annual Weed Abate- ment Program, was awarded to Alarcon and Sons, low bidder, in the amount of $65,532.00. Two bids were received and opened in the City Clerk's Office on August 26, 1982, copies of quotes on fil.e. The Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to execute the contract and the City Clerk directed to return bidder's guaran- tee to the unsuccessful bidder, .. 157 Proj.#636 awrded to American Cons Co., low bidder Proj.#638 awrded to Alarcon & Sons, low bidder 9. 'Councilman Decker apprised Council and audience that it Donations for was very commendable that citizens were making donations police dogs for the purchase of police dogs, however, he wanted to be on record as stating that the Council has not yet deter- mined whether or not police dogs are to be approved and therefore, did want the citizenry to be aware that their donations may not be accepted for that purpose. Moved by Councilwoman Hart, seconded by Councilman Latta Graffiti report and unanimously carried by roll call that City Adminis- trator investigate the possibility of having court case violators clean graffiti in the city, possibly being coordinated with Business License/Zoning Inspector. The Mayor further requested that signs be posted at the Signs re: entrance to the canyon, in English and Spanish that litter in-' litter violators will be subject to prosecution.
